Breanna Spain, PT, DPT, currently serves as a Professional Volleyball Official for the Pro Volleyball Federation, the premier women's professional volleyball league in North America, a position held since January 2024. With extensive experience as a Collegiate Volleyball Official for the NCAA since August 2015, Breanna has officiated and served as the head referee at the DIII National Championships in fall 2023. As an International Volleyball Official with USA Volleyball since January 2013, Breanna has officiated at various national and international tournaments, promoting team leadership and cultural diversity. Breanna's clinical experience as a Student Physical Therapist includes roles in various healthcare settings such as Select Medical, VCU Neuroscience, and Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, with a focus on diverse patient populations and conditions. Breanna holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.

The AAU was founded in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. During its early years, the AAU served as a leader in international sport, representing the U.S. in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic games. After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU has focused its efforts into providing sports programs for all participants of all ages beginning at the grass roots level. The philosophy of "Sports for All, Forever," is now shared by more than 720,000 members and 150,000 volunteers across 45 sports programs and 55 U.S. districts.
