Roop H Vankayalapati

Roop H Vankayalapati is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Wm Michael Barnes '64 Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, involved in teaching ISEN 405 - Material Handling and Procurement since August 2024. Prior to this role, Vankayalapati served as a Research Assistant in the same department and at Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, focusing on the development of a bi-directional digital twin for smart manufacturing environments. Vankayalapati's background includes extensive experience in robotics, having built autonomous robots and developed communication algorithms as a Student Worker. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering (in progress) and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering with a Data Science specialization from Texas A&M University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Product Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The leadership experience includes organizing robotics competitions and mentoring teams at IIT Delhi.
