James Hamilton

SVP, Distinguished Engineer at Amazon

James Hamilton is a Senior Vice President and Distinguished Engineer at Amazon. James specializes in infrastructure efficiency, reliability, and scaling. James has been with Amazon since December 2008. Prior to that, they were with Microsoft from March 1997 to December 2008 as an architect on the Windows Live Core team. Before that, they were with IBM from January 1986 to February 1997 as the DB2 Lead Architect.

James Hamilton has a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Victoria.
