Arend van der Goes

Arend Van der Goes is a seasoned environmental stewardship professional with extensive experience in carbon footprint reduction, energy transition, and responsible sourcing. Currently serving as the Principal Engineer for Environmental Stewardship at Ambatovy Joint-Venture, Arend is involved in developing and implementing decarbonization strategies, renewable energy investments, and corporate ESG management. Previous roles include a climate resilience consultant at CIFOR, project manager for various climate and agriculture initiatives at SNV, and contributions to the World Bank Group in developing REDD+ standards. With a master's degree in International Economic Law from the University of Utrecht, Arend has demonstrated expertise in climate change, social responsibility, and sustainable development across multiple countries in Africa.
