Tom Muehlbauer

Tom Muehlbauer, PMP, has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Tom has held various leadership roles in companies such as Ambient Consulting, Innova Solutions, Optum, Express Scripts, Thomson Reuters, Cisco Systems, and Thomson West/West Publishing.

At Ambient Consulting, Tom served as the Vice President of Business Transformation, starting in 2023.

Prior to that, at Innova Solutions from 2021 to 2023, they worked as the Director of Program Management. In this role, they built and maintained client relationships, provided consultation on technology challenges, and led projects from start to finish.

During their tenure at Optum from 2015 to 2021, Tom held multiple roles. Tom was the Director of IT Program Management/Training from 2018 to 2021, where they contributed to strategic planning and led technical training conferences for Optum Technology. Tom also served as the Director of IT PMO in 2017 and the Director of IT Program Management from 2015 to 2017, where they managed portfolios, directed project teams, and assisted in robotic automation acceleration efforts.

At Express Scripts, Tom was an IT Program Manager from 2013 to 2015, overseeing a software development portfolio and managing integration projects. Tom also served as the Senior IT Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) from 2008 to 2013 and as a Software QA Manager from 2006 to 2008.

Before that, Tom worked at Thomson Reuters as a Software Test Manager/Lead from 2005 to 2006 and at Cisco Systems as a Site Director, Software Development Manager, Software Test/QA Manager, and Lab Manager between 2000 and 2005.

Early in their career, Tom held various positions at Thomson Reuters/West Publishing, including Senior Network Analyst from 1996 to 2000, QA Analyst from 1995 to 1996, and Technical Support Consultant from 1990 to 1995.

Tom Muehlbauer, PMP, holds a BS degree in Business Administration & Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Optum in 2020, Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2005, and Cisco Certified Network Associate Service Provider Operations (CCNA) from Cisco in 2000.
