Niina Nykänen

Niina Nykänen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Niina is currently the Head of Data and Insight at Ambientia, where they lead a team of 15 data professionals and oversees data advisory, strategy projects, data platforms, visualization, and AI/ML solutions. Prior to this, Niina worked as a Lead Data Advisor at Aureolis, where they provided consulting services and led a team of 10 data analysts in the banking and financial sector. Niina also has experience at TietoEVRY, where they served as a Business and People Lead, leading a team of 20 experts and overseeing customer deliveries, sales, and offering development in the online solutions team. Niina also worked in business development and sales within the Customer Experience Management unit at TietoEvry, focusing primarily on public sector sales. Before joining TietoEVRY, they were a Business Analytics Consultant and Project Manager at Solita, where they managed projects related to reporting using agile methods. Additionally, Niina has experience as a Project Lead and SAP business intelligence consultant at Capgemini Finland, where they managed ERP and SAP BW projects and coordinated local and offshore resources. Niina also worked as a Project Manager and Researcher at the University of Tampere, where they contributed to a virtual patient project for medical students. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at Tampere University of Technology, supporting the department of Business Information Management and Logistics. Niina began their career as a Mobile Application Developer at Metso, where they designed and implemented a Windows Phone 7 mobile application for manufacturing plants. Overall, Niina Nykänen has a strong background in data and insights, customer experience, project management, and business development across various industries.

Niina Nykänen received their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Information and Knowledge Management from Tampere University of Technology from 2007 to 2012. In 2010, they participated in an Overseas Exchange Program at the University of Canberra, specializing in International Management. Prior to their university studies, they attended Euran lukio but did not obtain a specific degree or field of study. In addition to their formal education, Nykänen has obtained several certifications, including Designing Business and Designing Strategy from IDEO U in 2021, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in 2020, IBM Cognos TM1 10.1 Developer from IBM in 2015, and Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in 2014.
