Research Scientist III - Peptides Analytical and Purification Development at AmbioPharm

Erick Reyes Suarez has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development, with a focus on purification process development and analytical support. Erick started their career as a Research Scientist at Ocean Nutrition Canada in 2008, where they worked on the purification process development of marine lipids enriched in omega-3 fatty acids for dietary supplements and APIs. Erick then joined DSM in 2012 as a Senior Scientist, continuing their work on nutritional lipids purification development.

In 2020, Erick joined FreeThink Technologies, Inc as a Senior Analytical Scientist, conducting accelerated stability studies of solid dosage forms and biologics. Erick also worked on forced degradation studies and analysis of assay and related substances using HPLC and UPLC methods.

Currently, they work at AmbioPharm since 2021, filling the role of Research Scientist III - Peptides Analytical and Purification Development. In this role, Erick is responsible for developing analytical HPLC/UPLC methods for the analysis of synthetic peptides materials, in-process samples, and finished products. Erick is also involved in the development and scale up of HPLC-based purification processes for pharmaceutical-grade peptides.

Erick Reyes Suarez completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc)-Honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Havana between the years 1995 and 2000. Following this, they pursued further education at Dalhousie University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Organic Chemistry from 2003 to 2004. Continuing their academic journey, Erick completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry at Dalhousie University between 2005 and 2008.
