Chief Technical Advisor at Ambiq

Steve Sheafor has a diverse work experience with various companies and academic institutions. Steve was the Chief Technical Advisor at Ambiq Micro since August 2010. Prior to that, they worked as the Principal at FLS Associates starting from July 2003. From 2001, they served as an Adjunct Professor at Rice University.

In 2018, Steve took up the role of Adjunct Instructor at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they taught the Senior Computer Architecture course. Steve also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver in the same year, teaching the Startup: Creating a New Venture from Scratch course as part of the Inworks Interdisciplinary Innovation program.

Additionally, Steve has held positions such as Chief Technical Advisor at Kozio from June 2009 to December 2014, Investor at LineRate Systems from 2011 to 2013, Chief Technical Adviser at Vizionware from August 2003 to August 2008, and was a member of the Advisory Board at Ambric from 2004 to 2008. Steve Sheafor attended Byrd High School from 1964 to 1967, where they earned their high school diploma. Steve then enrolled at Rice University in 1967 and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Economics. Afterward, they pursued further education at Rice University and obtained a Master of Electrical Engineering (MEE) degree from 1971 to 1972. Steve continued their academic journey at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1972 to 1974, where they completed their PhD in Electrical Engineering. Later, they attended Santa Clara University from 1975 to 1979, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Business Administration.
