Silvio Borges dos Santos Fachim

Silvio Borges dos Santos Fachim has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. Silvio currently works at Biogen as the Legal Director for Brazil, Latin America, and the Caribbean, overseeing all legal affairs in the region. Silvio also serves as the Compliance and Privacy Officer, responsible for local affiliate legal and compliance matters.

In addition to their role at Biogen, Silvio holds leadership positions in various organizations. Silvio is the President of the Legal Strategic Committee at Amcham-Brasil and a member of the Special Commission on Bioethics and Biotechnology at OAB SP. Silvio is also a Permanent Member of the Legal Strategic Committee, Economy Committee, Compliance Committee at SINDUSFARMA, and the Legal and Intellectual Property Committee, Compliance Committee at Interfarma.

Prior to joining Biogen, Silvio worked at Pfizer as a Senior Legal Manager and eventually became the Legal Director. Silvio started their career at EY, where they worked as a Manager in International Tax, M&A, and Restructuring. Silvio also had a managerial role in the Brazilian & LatAm Desk, based in New York, focusing on investment projects and business opportunities between the US and Brazil.

Silvio's work experience demonstrates their expertise in legal and compliance management, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic leadership in the pharmaceutical and consulting industries.

Silvio Borges dos Santos Fachim has a diverse education history. Silvio obtained a Law degree from Centro Universitário FMU | FIAM-FAAM in the years 2003 to 2007. Later, they pursued further education in the field of taxation by completing a Specialist - Postgraduate program at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in 2008-2009. In 2010-2011, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Executive Accounting from Trevisan Escola de Negócios. Additionally, they attended a Summer Course in International Taxation at IBFD - International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in 2011. In 2009-2010, they completed the GV Law program at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas, focusing on NEF - Núcleo de Estudos Fiscais. In 2015-2016, Silvio pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Management at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas. In 2016, they studied Civil Process at FAAP - Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado. Silvio has also obtained additional certifications in areas such as Strategic Thinking, Conselheiro de Administração (Corporate Governance), Leading with Emotional Intelligence, Systems Thinking, and holds a Law Bar certification in São Paulo, Brazil.
