Ryan Kessens

Agricultural R&D Lead at AmebaGone

Dr. Kessens leads agricultural research efforts at AmebaGone and is the Principle Investigator on a USDA-funded grant to develop treatments for potato soft rot. He received his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he spent five years studying cell death caused by fungal diseases of plants. At Indiana University in Bloomington, he conducted three years of undergraduate research investigating plant immune responses against bacterial pathogens. Ryan also provides AmebaGone with experience in assay development acquired during his time as an intern at Promega.
