Alex Warstadt is a PhD student at New York University since May 2017, focusing on linguistics. Prior experience includes roles as a Software Engineer at IPsoft and a Watson Java Software Developer at IBM, where Alex documented Natural Language Processing algorithms for medical applications. At Orwig Music Library, duties involved assisting patrons and maintaining library materials. As an Undergraduate Researcher in the Lab of Pauline Jacobson, Alex completed original research in theoretical syntax and presented findings at conferences. Additional experience includes serving as Music Director for Brown Madrigal Singers and working as a Research Assistant at the Sentence and Discourse Processing Lab. Alex holds a Doctor of Philosophy from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
