Charles H.A. Dearing III has extensive work experience as an inspector in the engineering field. Charles H.A. began their career at Evans and Posthauer Engineers as an Inspector Trainee/NICET II from October 1984 to September 1989. Charles H.A. then joined Storch Associates as a NICET III Inspector from September 1989 to April 1992. From April 1992 to September 1995, they worked at Gandhi Engineering as a NICET III Inspector. Charles H.A. then joined Weidlinger Associates as a NICET III Inspector from September 1995 to September 1996. In September 1996, they joined Kupper Associates as a NICET III/NICET IV/Chief Inspector, where they worked until July 2008. Subsequently, they worked at AmerCom Corporation as a NICET IV/Chief Inspector from July 2008 to September 2014. Charles H.A. then joined Churchill Consulting Engineers as a NICET IV Inspector from September 2014 to September 2017. Finally, they returned to AmerCom Corporation in September 2017 and continues to work as a NICET IV/Chief Inspector.

Charles H.A. Dearing III has a varied education history. Charles H.A. attended Manhattan Community College from 1981 to 1983 but did not complete a degree. Charles H.A. also studied at the American Concrete Institute, specializing in Grade I Field Testing and Concrete Construction Technology. Dearing completed the 8 Hour OSHA Worker Training for Lead Abatement on Steel Structures and Commercial Buildings program at the Mount Sinai Occupational Health Center Lead in Construction Program. Charles H.A. holds a NICET IV certification in Highway Construction from the National Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technologies since 1995. Additionally, they obtained the Asphalt Paving Construction Technologist credential from the New Jersey Society of Asphalt Technologist, Inc. Dearing also completed the Traffic Control Coordinator program at Rutgers University's Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation. Finally, they received supervisor/competent person training for the deleading of industrial structures from the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) in their C-3, C-5 program.
