Lead Machine Learning Intern at Ameren

Samuel Gerstein's work experience includes a role as a Data Science Lead Intern at Ameren, where they developed energy demand forecasting models and integrated them into the company's infrastructure. Samuel also served as an Energy Committee Voting Member at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition, Samuel was a Contextual Utility Networks REU Fellow and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the university, where they focused on water and power systems design and conducted research on algorithmic design processes and zero-shot water demand prediction. Prior to this, they worked as a Calculus II Learning Assistant and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Florida Atlantic University, where they assisted students in their coursework and conducted research on federated learning applications and particle settling simulations.

Samuel Gerstein started their education journey at Land O' Lakes High School from 2018 to 2019. Samuel then attended A.D. Henderson University School & FAU High School from 2019 to 2022. During this time, they also pursued a degree in Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University. Currently, Samuel is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which began in 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2026.
