Heidi Overton

Chief Policy Officer And Director, Center For Healthy America at America First Policy Institute

Heidi Overton currently serves as the Chief Policy Officer and Director of the Center for a Healthy America at the America First Policy Institute, a position held since April 2021. Previously, Heidi worked as a White House Fellow in the Office of American Innovation and Domestic Policy Council from August 2019 to January 2021. Heidi's medical training includes a General Surgery Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, focused on surgical oncology and health policy, between July 2015 and August 2019. Heidi also served as a Student Regent on the University of New Mexico Board of Regents from January 2013 to May 2015, to which Heidi was appointed by Governor Susana Martinez. Heidi holds a PhD in Clinical Investigation from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an MD from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, as well as a BA in Health, Medicine, and Human Values from the University of New Mexico.
