Michael Faulkender

Michael Faulkender is the Chief Economist at America First Policy Institute. He is also a Professor of Finance at the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business. With a research focus on empirical corporate finance, he examines how government policies impact corporate financial decision making. As the Associate Dean of Masters Programs, he oversees various masters programs at the Smith School. Faulkender has also held roles such as Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and has been a visiting professor at The Wharton School and Northwestern University. He holds a PhD in Finance from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.
