Joanne Zurcher currently serves as the Vice President of Government Relations at the American Academy of Audiology, a position held since October 2024. Prior to this role, Zurcher was Vice President of Government Relations at Career Education Colleges and Universities from September 2021 to October 2024 and Senior Director of Government Relations at the Amputee Coalition from November 2019 to April 2020. Zurcher has held various leadership positions in government affairs, including Director of Government Affairs at the National Environmental Health Association and President of Zurcher and Associates, LLC. Experience also includes roles in public health and legislative strategy implementation, with a significant contribution to the Home Visiting Program while at the Health Resources and Services Administration. Zurcher’s educational background includes a Master of Public Affairs from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

The American Academy of Audiology was founded in January 1988 and is the world’s largest professional organization of, by and for audiologists. Representing the interests of audiologists and audiology students nationwide, the Academy is dedicated to providing quality hearing-care services through professional development, education, research, and increased public awareness of hearing and balance disorders.
