Akash Rau

Akash Rau is a medical student at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree. Currently, Akash serves as the Co-Chief Operating Officer for the AAD Women’s Health ERG, focusing on clinical care and education in dermatology, and has also volunteered as a Cabin Counselor for AAD Camp Discovery. As an active member of various organizations including the Skin of Color Society Foundation and Cap & Conquer, Akash supports dermatologic education and patient advocacy. Additionally, Akash has held leadership positions such as Co-President of the South Asian Medical Student Association and played a significant role in community outreach through programs like SPOTS and the Detroit Education Society. Previous volunteer experiences include working with the Mel Trotter Ministries and providing wellness calls for older adults with the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging. Akash Rau holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan.
