Graham Rankin

Graham Rankin is a Senior Principal Consultant at Rankin Forensic Science Services, where expertise is provided in fire debris analysis, explosives analysis, and controlled substance analysis since August 2013. As Chair of the Literature Subcommittee for the Advisory Committee on Evaluation of Controlled Substance Analogs, efforts focus on developing a scientific standard for identifying controlled substance analogs since March 2012. A Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Criminalistics Section since 2002, Rankin also served as Co-Chair for the TWGFEX Explosives Lab Analysis Training, contributing to training standards for explosives analysts from 2009 until August 2013. Previously, Rankin was a Professor at Marshall University, where forensic chemistry courses were taught until retirement in August 2013. Other notable roles include Chair of the ASTM E30 committee from 2006 to 2009 and Research Chemist at Shell Development Co. from 1975 to 1989. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Houston and a PhD in Chemical Oceanography from Texas A&M University.
