Tom Gersbeck

Tom Gersbeck is a seasoned professional in the field of forensics and explosives, with extensive experience spanning over three decades. Since 2019, Tom has authored works, including the second edition of "Practical Military Ordnance Identification" published by CRC Press. As an independent contractor with 2IG, Tom provides training and mentorship for forensic programs associated with the Department of Justice and the Department of State. Tom has been a fellow at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences since 2000 and is a life member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators, where Tom served as Director of the National Capitol Chapter from 2007 to 2009. Previously, Tom held various academic roles, including graduate faculty at Oklahoma State University, and adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Furthermore, Tom’s background includes significant contributions as a contractor deployed to Afghanistan and as a former EOD officer in the United States Marine Corps. Tom holds a Master of Forensic Sciences from National University and a degree in Management from Park University.
