Low Vision Diplomate Emeritus at American Academy Of Optometry

Richard Shuldiner, OD, FAAO, has extensive experience in the field of low vision optometry as the Low Vision Diplomate Emeritus at the American Academy of Optometry since December 1988. As President of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists since January 2010, Richard has overseen the performance of over 3000 low vision evaluations annually, focusing on maintaining patient independence. Richard is the Founder of the Shuldiner Low Vision Training Institute, which trains optometrists using specialized methods for low vision care. Clinical Director at Low Vision Optometry of Southern California since January 1994, Richard has also served as Chief Clinical Editor for PentaVision LLC until December 2022, contributing to a widely distributed optometric newsletter. Richard held the position of President at Vision Vitamins from 2005 to 2015, promoting a proprietary vitamin for macular degeneration, and was Vice President of Vision Improvement Services from 2009 to 2012, providing low vision rehabilitation to home health agencies. Richard obtained an OD in Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, following studies at Long Island University.
