Ayushmita De, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Research, Director of Data Science, and Orthopaedic Implant Manager at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since September 2019. Previously, Ayushmita was an Academic Tutor at Academic Approach from September 2016 to August 2019, coaching students for better standardized test outcomes. Experience also includes a role as a Commercialization Analyst at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where Ayushmita facilitated innovation through intellectual property transfer from July 2015 to August 2019, and as a Research Assistant at Rush University, focusing on pre-clinical diagnostics and lumbar spine mechanics. Earlier experience includes working as an Onsite Engineer and Process Safety Consultant at Siemens Energy, engaging with major petrochemical companies on various projects from September 2007 to January 2014. Ayushmita holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
