American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
Mariam Hakim-Zargar MPH MD serves as the Vice President and a Council Member at the Connecticut State Medical Society since January 2017, advocating for medical professionals and patients. Additionally, Mariam holds multiple positions at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, including a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of State Legislative and Regulatory Issues. As a Member of the New England Delegation to the American Medical Association and a participant in the Mobility Caucus, Mariam focuses on healthcare policy related to musculoskeletal care. With extensive leadership roles in various organizations and as President of NEW ENGLAND ORTHOPAEDIC CENTER, LLC, Mariam also contributes as a Healthcare Consultant to the State of Connecticut regarding legislative needs for physician practice.
