Sattar Hussein

Sattar Hussein has extensive experience in the aviation industry, currently serving as a Technical Crew Chief at American Airlines since August 1983. With a focus on the 727, MD80, and 737 fleets, Sattar specializes in heavy structure and interior modifications while collaborating closely with engineering and production teams to ensure timely aircraft work completion. Previous roles at American Airlines include Crew Chief, where responsibilities included managing a team of 27 mechanics and achieving significant cost savings through the establishment of warranty shops. As a Quality Assurance professional, Sattar conducted inspections on various aircraft fleets, and earlier experience as a Mechanic involved complex structure work across multiple aircraft models. Prior to American Airlines, Sattar worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Rockwell International, contributing to projects involving the 757 and B1B Bomber, and began an aviation career as an Aircraft Engineer at Iraqi Airways. Sattar holds an AMT degree from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology and two years of study in Mechanical Engineering at Baghdad University.
