Amanda Valeta-Magara, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of cancer research. Amanda began their career as a Summer Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota in 2008, where they focused on cancer biology. Amanda then worked as an Undergraduate Student Research Assistant at Jacobs University Bremen, specializing in biochemistry and cell biology.

In 2009, Amanda joined NYU School of Medicine as a Graduate Research Assistant I, focusing on molecular oncology and tumor immunology. Amanda later advanced to the role of Graduate Student Research II, furthering their work in the same field.

In 2011, Amanda continued their studies at NYU School of Medicine as a Graduate Student in Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology. During this time, they also took on the role of a Clinical Research Data Associate, expanding their skill set.

In 2016, Amanda joined Weill Cornell Medicine as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they continued their research in the field of cancer.

Since 2017, Amanda has been working with the American Association for Cancer Research. Amanda initially started as an Assistant Editor for the journal Cancer Research, and now holds the position of Scientific Editor for the same publication.

Amanda Valeta-Magara, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Jacobs University Bremen in the years 2006 to 2009. Amanda then pursued a Master's degree in Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology from New York Medicine Jobs between 2009 and 2011. Following this, Amanda completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology at NYU School of Medicine, Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences from 2011 to 2016.

In addition to their educational background, Amanda also holds a certification in Clinical Trial Management from the University of Delaware, which was obtained in February 2016.
