Chris Hunt

Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships at American Association For Cancer Research

Chris Hunt has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Chris started their career at Lowe's Companies, Inc. as an Outside Sales representative. Chris then moved on to work at Golf Associates Scorecard Company as a Sales Associate and later joined Elite Sport Management Group as an Account Manager.

In 2001, Chris worked at Apex Systems as a Technical Recruiter, where they recruited IT professionals for temporary and contract-to-hire positions. Chris then transitioned to the American Cancer Society, where they held various roles. As the Income Manager, Relay For Life, they directed multiple fundraising events and raised a significant amount of money each year. Chris later became the Director of Corporate Relations, engaging large employers with the mission of ACS, and eventually served as the Corporate Development Officer for the NC/SC region.

After their time at the American Cancer Society, Chris became the Owner of Good Bottle Co., a craft beer store and e-commerce webstore. Chris successfully created and managed this business from its inception in 2012 until 2018.

From 2017 to 2020, Chris worked at the American Diabetes Association as a Corporate Development Officer. In this role, they secured national sponsorships and developed valuable partnerships with national companies.

Most recently, Chris worked at the USO, first as the Regional Director of Development for the Southeast region, and later as the Director of Corporate Alliances. In these roles, they led development teams and focused on corporate development, cause marketing, and foundation engagement. Chris also pursued innovative fundraising strategies involving NFT and blockchain technology.

Currently, Chris holds the position of Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships at the American Association for Cancer Research, starting from 2023.

Chris Hunt completed their General Studies diploma from North Buncombe High School in the years 1989 to 1993. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Sport Management, with a minor in Marketing, from Western Carolina University between 1993 and 1999.
