Melanie Gibson, CAE, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they serve as the Chief Operating Officer at AAMFT, a position they began in February 2023. Prior to their current role, they were the Director of Membership and DEI Member Programs at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry from January 2017 to January 2023.

Earlier in their career, Melanie worked as a Personnel Manager at Snelling Personnel Services, where they recruited, screened, and interviewed potential employees, marketed candidates to employers, and negotiated placement fees. Melanie also served as an Adjunct Faculty at West Virginia State College from August 1997 to May 1999.

Melanie's work experience also includes a brief role as a Vocational Rehab Consultant at McCoy and Associates in 1998.

Melanie Gibson, CAE, holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counseling from Marshall University. Melanie pursued their MA degree from 1995 to 1997. Before that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from West Virginia State University, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. In May 2021, they obtained a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education.
