Matt Hinds-Aldrich

Matt Hinds-Aldrich has a diverse work experience in the field of risk strategy, fire data analysis, and program management. Matt is currently working as a Senior Risk Strategy Lead at AAIS since July 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Pro Bono and Ad Hoc Consultant at Chief Fire Data Nerd from February 2020. In this role, they worked on projects related to fire risk prediction, grant writing, public safety consulting, and technical writing. Before that, Matt worked as a Program Manager for Data & Analytics at NFPA from August 2016 to February 2020. Matt also gained experience as a Management Analyst at Atlanta Fire Rescue Department from June 2014 to August 2016. Additionally, Matt has worked at Anna Maria College, where they served as the Interim Program Director for the Fire Science Degree Program and as an Assistant Professor in Fire Science. During their time at Anna Maria College, they led the program, coordinated instructors, developed curriculum, oversaw student advocacy, and recruited prospective fire science students.

Matt Hinds-Aldrich pursued their higher education in a progressive manner, beginning with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Police Studies from Eastern Kentucky University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Matt then furthered their academic pursuits by obtaining a Master of Science (M.S.) in Criminal Justice from the same institution, studying from 2004 to 2006. Continuing their scholarly journey, Hinds-Aldrich earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Sociology with a focus on Fire Service Culture from the University of Kent between 2007 and 2012. Additionally, at some point during their education, they attended the National Fire Academy, although the exact dates and obtained degree are unspecified.
