Jim McDonnell

Jim McDonnell, P.E. has extensive experience in engineering and transportation services, currently serving as Director of Engineering at AASHTO since January 2000. Prior roles at AASHTO include Acting Director of Engineering and Technical Services, Deputy Program Director, and Associate Program Director. Prior to AASHTO, Jim held the position of Senior Engineer at TransCore from October 1997 to December 1999 and worked as a Senior Transportation Engineer and Highway Engineer at NCDOT from September 1988 to September 1997. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Duke University and completed master's coursework in Transportation Engineering at North Carolina State University.
