Dona Playton serves as the Dyekman Professor of Law and Associate Professor at the University of Wyoming College of Law since August 2019, following a long tenure as a Senior Lecturer and Faculty Supervisor at the same institution. Playton's extensive experience in the legal field includes roles as a Municipal Court Judge in Laramie, Wyoming, and an Albany County Circuit Court Magistrate, both from November 2017 to September 2023. As Wyoming State Bar Delegate for the American Bar Association since January 2023, Playton contributes to legal advocacy at the state level. Previous leadership includes serving as Director of the Honoring Families Initiative at the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System, and Supervising Attorney for the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, focusing on support and legal services for low-income victims. Educated at the University of Wyoming with a JD obtained in 1993, Playton's career reflects a strong commitment to legal education and advocacy, particularly in family law and issues concerning domestic violence.
