Mary Koik is the Director of Communications at American Battlefield Trust. Mary has over fifteen years of experience in communications and editorial work, helping organizations in the history, culture, and preservation fields to fulfill their communications and editorial goals.
Koik began their career as a staff writer for The Hartford Courant before moving on to Communications Development, Incorporated, where they assisted in editing and proofreading projects for the United Nations, World Bank, and other NGOs. In 2004, they became the editorial director for the Central Virginia Battlefield Trust's "On the Front Line" and editorial consultant to "Mount Vernon Magazine" for the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.
In their current position, Koik oversees all aspects of the Trust's communications, including public relations, content creation, and media relations. Under their leadership, the Trust has seen a significant increase in media coverage and public engagement.
Mary Koik's educational career includes a BA in Literary Theirtory from Georgetown University.
Mary Koik reports to Jim Campi, Chief Policy & Communications Officer. They work with and Colleen Cheslak - Communications Associate.
