Joan Gonzalez

Joan Gonzalez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in fundraising and development within academic settings. Currently serving as the Senior Executive Director at the American Cancer Society in Southeast Florida since September 2023, Joan previously held several key leadership roles at Florida International University from January 2004 to October 2023. These roles included Executive Director of the Development Office for Student Success, where responsibility encompassed fundraising operations for various programs, as well as Director and Senior Director of Development positions focusing on the First Generation Scholarship Program and student affairs. Joan's career also includes significant contributions as Associate Director and Assistant Director in Alumni Relations, where initiatives led to increased alumni engagement and membership growth. Joan holds a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Florida International University.
