Melissa Ames

Melissa Ames is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in project and portfolio management, currently serving as a Community Board Member for the City of Pawtucket, RI since February 2025. Simultaneously, Melissa has been with the American Cancer Society since 1995, where roles include Director of Digital, Project, and Portfolio Management, overseeing a team focused on digital marketing products and managing extensive fundraising projects. Previous positions within the organization have included Senior Project Manager for both Enterprise Portfolio Management in Digital Marketing and Information Technology, as well as E-Revenue Technical and Strategy Manager. Additionally, since June 2017, Melissa has volunteered as a leader for the Rhode Island chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, coordinating operations and events. Melissa holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from the Community College of Rhode Island.
