Songwen Xie

Songwen Xie is a Professor and Program Director for the BS in Chemistry and MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Program at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, with experience since July 2010. Prior to this role, Songwen Xie served as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Indiana University Kokomo from August 2005 to June 2010 and worked as a Research Assistant at Southern Illinois University Carbondale from August 2000 to August 2005, focusing on the synthesis of small estrogenic carboxylic acids for potential cancer treatment applications. Since October 2008, Songwen Xie has also been involved with the American Chemical Society as a USNCO College Mentor and Career Consultant, offering mentorship and career counseling in the field of chemistry. Songwen Xie holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (2000-2005) and a BS in Chemistry from Peking University (1995-1999).
