Burton McFarland

Burton McFarland currently serves as the Data Science Team Lead at the American College of Cardiology, having assumed this role in September 2024. Prior to this position, Burton was a Senior Data Scientist at Kumo.AI from February 2023 to September 2024, where responsibilities included leading customer engagements to develop Graph Neural Networks for various machine learning applications. Burton also held the title of Director of Data Science at DataRobot from December 2019 to February 2023, overseeing the post-sales team for federal clients. Earlier experiences include serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Publicis Sapient, where Burton led teams in operationalizing machine learning solutions, and as Vice President of Analytics at Somete Technology Group, LLC, focusing on the development of a proprietary analytics engine. Burton's career began in IT consultancy and system development at Sapient Government Services. Educationally, Burton holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Game Development from Full Sail University.
