Michelle Munroe has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the healthcare field. Michelle currently serves as the Interim Chief Executive Officer at the American College of Nurse-Midwives since April 2023. Prior to this, they were the Chief Executive Officer at the Coastal Georgia Women's Foundation from June 2022. In 2021, they worked as a Healthcare Consultant, and in 2022, they pursued a political career by running for Congress in Georgia's 1st Congressional district. From 2020 to 2021, Michelle Munroe served as an Executive Leader in the US Army Medical Department, and from 2018 to 2020, they were the Commander/CEO at WINN Army Community Hospital. Michelle also has a distinguished career in the US Army, where they worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife from 2003 to 2020. Michelle held various leadership positions, including Deputy Commander for Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and Deputy Commander for Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer overseas. In addition, they served as the Assistant Deputy Commander for Nursing at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for the Graduate School of Nursing at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Michelle Munroe DNP, APRN, CNM, FACNM, FAAN has an extensive education history. In 2001 to 2003, they pursued their Masters of Science in Nursing/Midwifery at the University of Maryland Baltimore. Following this, from 2013 to 2014, they attended Frontier Nursing University, where they earned their Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on Education. Later on, they joined The United States Army War College, completing their Master of Strategic Studies in 2017.
