Susan Stemmler, MPH, PhD, FNP, CNM, currently serves as an Assistant Professor at West Coast University in the Center for Graduate Studies, focusing on the education of Family Nurse Practitioners since 2015. Additionally, Stemmler has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at California State University-Dominguez Hills since May 2014. In a notable role since 2014, Stemmler acts as a liaison for the American College of Nurse-Midwives, specifically for the Committee for Women's Health in Indian Health Service and Tribal Health Communities. Furthermore, Stemmler has been involved with UCLA as a Nurse Midwife and Addictions Researcher, emphasizing women's health particularly in relation to the use of methamphetamines during pregnancy since 2012.
