Samantha Tierney

Senior Scientist, Clinical Policy at American College of Physicians

Samantha Tierney is a seasoned professional in clinical policy and performance measurement, currently serving as a Senior Scientist at the American College of Physicians since June 2020. In this role, Samantha guides the performance measure strategy, oversees the Performance Measurement Committee's activities, and acts as a measure methodologist and expert in Internal Medicine. Prior to this position, Samantha was the Senior Director of Measurement Science at PCPI, where responsibilities included managing the Measurement Science Program and representing PCPI on various national committees. Samantha also held multiple roles at the American Medical Association, including Director of Measure Development Operations, focusing on standardizing measure development and leading teams on various projects. Samantha’s early career involved research assistance at the University of Illinois and recruitment for the Illinois Primary Health Care Association. Samantha earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
