Desiree Finhert has extensive experience in various roles within the media and conference industry. Desiree currently serves as the Director of Content for National Security and Indigenous Affairs at the American Conference Institute since 2020. Previously, they worked at The Canadian Institute as a Portfolio Lead for Indigenous Affairs, where they designed conferences and facilitated networking opportunities in industries such as energy and Aboriginal rights.

Before that, Desiree worked as an Afternoon News Anchor at Corus Entertainment, where they hosted a daily live broadcast and actively engaged with the audience through social media. Desiree also has experience as a Researcher/Report Writer at Saint Mary's University and the NS Department of Justice, CyberSCAN Unit, conducting research and creating educational material on cyber safety.

Desiree began their career as a Reporter/Photographer at Metro News, TC Transcontinental, covering city council meetings and court proceedings. Later, they joined News 95.7, Rogers Communications, as a Morning Reporter/Weekend Anchor, covering a wide range of topics and conducting live storm center reports. Afterward, they pursued further education at Saint Mary's University from 2008 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology.
