Eric Masanet is a Professor and Mellichamp Chair of Sustainability Science for Emerging Technologies at UC Santa Barbara, where Eric leads the Industrial Sustainability Analysis Laboratory focused on decarbonizing industrial and information technology sectors. Masanet also serves as a Senior Industrial Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy and is a member of the Industrial Technology Innovation Advisory Committee. Additionally, Masanet is a Faculty Scientist at Berkeley Lab, contributing to research on industrial decarbonization and sustainability analysis, and advises the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy on energy efficiency and decarbonization. Previous roles include Lead Author for the IPCC, Associate Professor at Northwestern University, and Head of Energy Demand Technology Unit at the International Energy Agency. Masanet holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
