Aaron Sawatzky

Aaron Sawatzky is an experienced professional in agricultural economics and environmental project management. Currently serving as a Business Development Engineer and Senior Agriculturalist at American Crystal Sugar Company since October 2010, Aaron specializes in providing agronomic and economic advice to maximize producers' returns while overseeing sugar beet harvest operations. Prior to this, Aaron was the Environmental Projects Manager at Red River Regional Council, where responsibilities included managing environmental projects, writing grants, and providing technical assistance across four counties in Northeast North Dakota. Earlier experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Dakota State University, focusing on soil science research and education. Aaron holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, an MBA from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, and a Master of Science in Soil Chemistry and Physics from North Dakota State University, where a Bachelor of Science in Soil Sciences was also earned.
