Jesse Buxton

Jesse Buxton, PhD, is a highly experienced data scientist currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at American Electric Power since October 2021, where significant contributions include developing forecasting models for power outages and streamlining data integration processes. Prior to this role, Jesse held positions at Battelle as a Research Scientist focused on aviation security technologies, and as a Research Associate at The Ohio State University, where innovative use of time-to-digital converters was implemented. Research experience at CERN involved collaboration with the ALICE experiment and extensive presentations, while earlier roles at The Ohio State University as both a Graduate Assistant and Adjunct Lecturer helped build a foundational knowledge in physics. Jesse's academic credentials include a forthcoming MBA and a PhD in Experimental Computational High Energy Nuclear Physics, along with both MS and BS degrees in Physics from The Ohio State University.
