Maddie Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Maddie began their career as a Division I Tennis Player and Psychology Researcher at Drake University. As a researcher, they conducted a study on the effects of age and gender on stereotyping of leaders and presented their findings at a conference. Maddie also excelled as an Assistant Women's Tennis Coach, leading the team to their first conference championship in over a decade.

After their time at Drake University, Maddie gained experience in the corporate world. Maddie worked as a Talent Acquisition Intern at Principal Financial Group, where they managed the full-cycle recruitment process for the accounting and finance internship program. Maddie also organized and facilitated over 100 on-campus events. Later on, they interned as an HR Operations Intern at the same company.

Maddie then joined Kum & Go as a Learning and Development Specialist, where they led the implementation and facilitation of the company's corporate orientation and onboarding program. Maddie successfully managed the transition of the program to a virtual format.

In 2020, Maddie became the VP of Activities for Cajun Fest, where they played a key role in organizing and coordinating various activities.

Currently, Maddie is working as a Talent Development Partner at American Equity. In this role, they assist with team member and leadership development resources and opportunities. Maddie partners with leaders and practice owners to support enterprise needs and has launched a Leader Resource Center and framework for leadership development.
