Madge Thomas serves as President of the American Express Foundation and Head of Corporate Sustainability at American Express since June 2021. Additionally, Madge has been an Executive Committee Member of the Australian Institute of International Affairs since 2013, contributing to legal compliance and national partnerships. Prior roles include Head of Private Sector, Innovative Finance and Philanthropy Partnerships at UNICEF, where Madge developed a pioneering strategy for the Education Cannot Wait Fund, and Vice President of Global Policy and Government Relations at The Global Poverty Project, overseeing advocacy initiatives across multiple countries. Madge's legal expertise was demonstrated as Acting General Counsel at the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and as a solicitor specializing in human rights at the Aboriginal Legal Service of WA. Madge holds dual degrees in Law and Politics from The University of Notre Dame Australia.
