Bonnie McGill

Bonnie McGill is a Senior Climate & Soil Health Scientist at American Farmland Trust, contributing to the AFT Climate Initiative with expertise in biogeochemistry, geospatial and statistical modeling, and climate communication, focusing on transforming U.S. agriculture into a net carbon sink. Prior experience includes serving as a Science Communication Fellow at Carnegie Museum of Natural History and as a Smith Conservation Research Fellow at The University of Kansas. McGill completed a PhD in Ecosystem Ecology at Michigan State University and has held various research and assistant roles in prestigious institutions including Duke University and Clemson University. Early career experience includes work as a farmhand and participation in significant ecological research, demonstrating a solid foundation in both practical and scientific aspects of environmental stewardship.
