Shin Murakami, PhD, FGSA, is a prominent figure in the fields of gerontology and biotechnology, currently serving as the Founder and Director of the Biotech Academy Internship Program since 2008, providing free summer courses to alleviate educational expenses in Vallejo. With a significant role as National Faculty at the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners since 2011, Shin develops medical board exams in biochemistry and genetics. Additionally, Shin has been a member of the National Scientific Advisory Council for the American Federation for Aging Research since 2000 and holds the title of Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America, recognizing outstanding contributions to the field. As a full professor at Touro University California, Shin advocates for the elderly and oversees biosafety compliance as Chair of the Institutional Biosafety Committee. Involvement extends to advisory positions with local high schools and editorial roles in prominent journals. Shin’s educational background includes a Ph.D. from Kyoto University.
