Mylen Arias

Mylen Arias serves as the Senior Manager for Community Resilience at American Forests, where responsibilities include developing strategies to enhance public understanding and utilization of the Lower Rio Grande Valley's native thornforests amid various challenges. Previously, Mylen was a Grade Level Team Leader and AP Biology Teacher at IDEA Public Schools, focusing on event coordination, community outreach, and delivering inclusive science instruction. Mylen has also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, contributing to undergraduate education and research in plant ecophysiology. Mylen holds a Master of Science in Biology with a focus on Restoration Ecology, alongside Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Philosophy, respectively, from the same institution.
