Wes Swaffar is an experienced forestry and environmental professional currently serving as the Director of Northern Rockies at American Forests since August 2020, where responsibilities include establishing and leading regional programs for forest restoration in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Prior to this role, Wes held various positions at the National Forest Foundation from June 2012 to July 2020, including Director of Forest Restoration and Director of Ecosystem Services, managing over 20 restoration projects annually. Wes also has a background in research and education through roles at Northern Arizona University, Trout Unlimited, Colorado State University, and the U.S. Forest Service, with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor’s degree in Resource Conservation from the University of Montana.
