M.J. Offen has a diverse work experience in the animation and television industry. They have worked as a Head Writer for the "Jade Armor" series, as well as a Freelance Animation Writer, Producer, and Creator at Collective Unconscious Inc. They also served as a Head Writer for "WellieWishers Season 2" on Amazon for American Girl. M.J. Offen has worked at Disney ABC Television Group as a Writer/Creator for an original preschool series and as a Freelance Writer for "Goldie & Bear". Additionally, they served as the Head of Animation at JASH and produced shorts for VideoPodcastNetwork. M.J. Offen also worked as the Creator of an Original Short Pilot (Live Action/Puppetry) for Sesame Studios at Sesame Workshop. They held the position of Head of Story at Mattel Toys for brands such as Barbie, Monster High, and Ever After High. M.J. Offen has also served as the Creative Director of Animation at MAKER STUDIOS (A DISNEY COMPANY) and as the Creative Director - Preschool Lines at FUNRISE TOYS. Their earlier work experience includes being a Writer at Nickelodeon, where they developed an original property and contributed as a storywriter for hit series such as Catscratch and Spongebob Squarepants.
M.J. Offen holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in English & World Literature, as well as Art, which was obtained from Pitzer College from 1993 to 1997. In 1999, M.J. Offen attended the ArtCenter College of Design, where they earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in New Media/Painting from 1999 to 2001. Additionally, in 1999, M.J. Offen participated in a residency program at the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, focusing on Fine Art.
