Afterward, they pursued further education at Waterbury State Technical Institute, where they earned another AS degree, this time in Manufacturing Engineering, from 1986 to 1988.

In 1988, Bumbera enrolled at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) in 1991. Following a break in their education, they decided to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Entrepreneurship, at Lindenwood University from 1996 to 1998.

In addition to their formal education, Bumbera obtained a certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt in May 1996. The institution from which they obtained this certification is not specified.
