Eric Nagy

Eric Nagy is an experienced academic and administrator currently serving as Associate Director of the Mountain Lake Biological Station at the University of Virginia since June 1996. In this role, responsibilities include overseeing operations, facilities, and research, as well as managing data collections and IT. Nagy has significantly contributed to funding through NSF grants for student training and facilities improvement, acting as PI for projects totaling over $2.4 million. Additionally, Nagy serves on the Board of Directors for the American Institute of Biological Sciences and BioOne, and has been a Principal Investigator for a research internships program at NSF, securing substantial funding and facilitating numerous publications. An accomplished leader, Nagy has held various positions, including President and committee chair, within the Organization of Biological Field Stations. Education includes a Ph.D. in Population Biology from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Oberlin College.
